GALEN BROWNS SUCCESSES ABROAD. DeutschCr Sport, the leading publication devoted to affairs of racing in the German Empire, recently printed the following paragraph concerning J. Galon Brown, a well-known Chicago trainer who is spending a short vacation in this country prior to the assumption of the duties of a new position in Germany: "A. V. Sehmieder has engaged as private trainer J. G. Brown, recently private trainer for Monsieur Jean Sterns of France. He left his engagement in France November 15, and went to America, where he will remain all winter. In the spring, about March 1. he will take charge of the racing stable of A. V. Sehmieder. A new stable jockey has not vet been engaged. Mr. Brown is now fifty vears of "age and came to France about six years " ago. becoming private trainer for Monsieur "Maurice" Ephrussi and later for Monsieur Joan Sterns, for whom he trained with marked success. Two years, one after another, Mr. Brown saddled at the meeting in Baden-Baden the winner of the Prince- of Wales Stakes. In 1912 it was Gilles do Rais and in 1913, Turluoin. In the year previous he saddled Don Dicquo, winner in the Rhein, the Old Castle and the Mariahalden. This past season he won the Old Castle race with Benares."
