RUNS FAST THREE EIGHTHS LADY CAPRICIOUS MAKES NEW TRACK RECORD IN WINNING RACE AT JUAREZ. Filly by Marta Santa Roberta Lee Reduces Juarez Mark to :34 Changes in Betting Rinff Follow Misunderstanding. El Paso, Tex., January 5. Not a favorite entered the winners circle at Juarez today. The opening rae-e, for two-year-olds, saw Silver Blossom beaten in new track record time of 34 seconds for three furlougs by Lady Capricious, a lilly by Slarta Santa Roberta Lee, belonging to J. I. Clayton, that was starting for the first time. Silver Blossom broke sideways at the start and, bumping into several other starters, knocked herself out of her stride, but finished a game see:ond. The Guadalajara Handicap brought together a select lot of sprinters and in one of the hardest drives of the meeting, Florence Roberts won by tbo narrow margin of a nose from Slimorioso, the favorite. Jockey Woods, who rode Slimorioso, was unfortunate in breaking one of his stirrup straps at the eighth post in the homestretch and could not give his mount the same good finish that has characterized his riding in the many races In which he has had mounts.
