DON CORTEZ raced in closest pursuit of CALL SHOT until a sixteenth out and, under punishment, he took the lead, hut barely lasted long enough to outstay MUX. The latter was forced to come around on the outside on the lower turn, where a jam occurred, but finished fast anil almost got up to win. CALL SHOT set a fast paee and tired in the Dual drive, TOD COOK closed a big gap and finished with a rush. WHITE CROWN ran fairly well. TOWER quit. Overweights Don Cortez, 4 pounds. WOOF was cut off on the far turn and forced back, then closed a big gap into a fast going third. . K. DAVIS met with interference it the same point. MESIIACII ran well. IDA KENNEDAY made up ground. SIR FRETFUL ran well and finished with a rush. CON NAUGHT set a fast pace to the last eighth and quit near the end. TAHOE was knocked out of his stride at the start by HARDY.
