DISQUALIFICATION AT PALMETTO PARK. Stewards Set Jesse Jr. Bach After Ho Finishes First in Juvenile Race at Charleston. Charleston, S. C, March 18. The disqualification er Jesse, Jr., which finished tirst in the juvenile dash at Palmetto Park this afternoon, was made necessary by the foul tactics resorted to by jockey Te-a-han, who allowed his mount to cross Alledo "in the stretch racing and interfere with her to such an extent as to encompass her defeat. The displacing ot the Hedrick colt gave the purse to Alledo and moved Tetan, a lirst time starter, into second place, with Jim Savage third. Alledo was a smartly supported favorite and the stewards action in awarding the purse te her met with general favor. The disqualilicatioii was the outstanding incident attending the sport this afternoon. Improvement in weather conditions enabled the fair sex to take advantage of ladies day and witness the racing as guests of the association in large numbers. Track conditions were still bad and the card was ordinary. The races were well contested iu meist instances and as all the winners came iu for a good share or support, most of the layers were hard hit. Milton IS., which is supposedly on the verge of breaking down, again made a show of the company that opposed him iu the closing dash and won wi.n ridiculous ease. Chas. F. Grainger beating the others for second place. An old-fashioiied "killing" Is reported to have been made iu the fifth race with Kolling Stone serving as the medium, lie showed distinct improvement over a former es-ay and won well iu band from Brush and the extreme outsider. Ialma. After Rolling Stones success, he was bid up from an entered price of 00 to 70."; and was retained. Miss Gayle. which had been beaten by narrow margins in several recent starts, tinallv had the racing luck in her favor and it enabled her to win a e-lose decision iu the fourth over the outsider. Water Lad. Jocke-y Teahan was suspended for live days by the stewards for bis rough riding in the two-year-old race. Starter Milton yesterday suspended jockey Alley for the rest of the meeting for disoliedience" at the post. Jockey Dave Xicol. after a long absence from the saddle, resumed riding this afternoon and piloted Tyro and Brush into second place in their respective races. Jockey J. McTaggart will finish up his engagenuiiT here tomorrow, wiicn he will leave for his home in Brooklyn. McTaggart will probably rest until the opening of the meeting at Havre de Grace. W. Weiodard received a letter from J. Gallagher this morning stating hat the horses at Lexington were forward in training and that they were " best lot that has wintered at the Kentucky Association track in some years. J. W. Foreman sold the two-year-old Ermagarde to .1. McCarthy this morning. D. Ford received word from IT. Cautiuo that He would ship the three-year-old Aguila from Porto Rico to Norfolk next week. Aguila. a brother lo Gardenia, won the Washington Handicap, at one mil--and an eighth, in Iorto Kico recently, b-ating Ti-U Tack and Old lfloncsty. The winner carried 11.1 pounds.
