PLANS FOR PIPING ROCK RACES. Kew York. March 13. Entries for the Piping Rock Subscription Serial Handicap will close to morrow. Frank J. Bryan reports that already an excellent series of races are assured. These races are in a measure a continuation of the private sweepstakes inaugurated at Piping Rock last year. The subscription two-year-olds of last season are the ellgibles for the serial handicaps. The distances of these serial handicaps have not yet been definitely fixed, but they will vary all the way from three-quarters of a mile to a mile and a half. Such :; series is calculated to afford all of the horses a chance and the further fact that they are to b under handicap conditions has made them popular with tlie subscribers. It is proposed to have ten or twelve races in the series and the first one will be a part of the Rockaway Hunt Club program May 2. Other amateur meetings that will have the races are those at Piping Rock, Brookline. Belmont Park Terminal and possibly another, while some of the more Important courses will card other events in the series. The series have been prepared with a lat entrance of 00, which makes a horse eligible for each race in Hie series without further payment of any sort.
