SARATOGANS RAISE RACE FUND. Kew York, March 1". Saratoga is now assured or a lirst-class season of sport for the month of August. When the dates were awarded the Saratoga Association it was intimated that unless the villa gers came to the front with a substantial appreciation of the entertainment to lie offered the meeting might lie curtailed. Last year the subscriptions to the racing fund were far below what was expected and a plea was made for more money. Assistant Secrelarv A. McL. Earlocher. who has lveen in Sara toga for two days setting forth what was expecle:! from the citizens, has been successful in his mission. Last night it was announced that the Saratogans had subscribed practically .0,000 to the race fund. Among the subscribers to the fund are Chauncey Olcott, with a subscription or $."00. and the Grand Pnlon Hotel, with ,000 as its donation.
