Md., April :;. — The Bghl on race track legislation at Annapolis centered today in the ways and means committee of the House of Delegate! when Delegate V easey of Worcester C-oitnty de feated an effort to have the committee report the Hall anti-gambling bill. Th committee, which has been considering the bill. together with the HolTinaii amendment, took up the matter, and three delegates attempted to have the bill reported. Mr. Veasey, however, succeeded in having a majority of the committee Bnpporl his motion to bold it back until Monday. Hoadaj hi the last dav of the Marylaud legislature and the chances sre extreme!? slim far aaj action being taken on the bill in the last throes of the session. Furthermore, by being held so late, the bills could only get througit by a suspension of the rubs ..i both houses and it is confidently believed that the strength of the lace track supporters is sufficient to prevent any nek action. The Senate bill on race tracks, which i exactly like the one iu the House, ream land today in the Senate finance committee with little or no prospects of being brought out iu time to be passed thi. session. .
