WILSON STRING IN PROMISING CONDITION. New York. April 3 — A long line of t liorotighbreds can be seen daily at the Belmont Park track and ■II tile adjacent roads. The race horses uo longer follow the straw rides under the sheds. Instead, the soft reads and lKiulevards are now the galloping grounds. It is on the roads and on the outside of the track that the race horses an- receiving their secondary preparation. The finishing touches will come along in two wTeeks over the main courses, for in a little more than six weeks the sounds of •boots and saddles" will be heard at Belmont Park. The first racing matinee will be held at Cedarhurst on April 20. This is a hunt meeting under amateur auspices. A month later to the day. May JO, Belmont Park will swing open its gales. The most important string of thoroughbreds at Belmont Park at present is that "Wticd by K. I. Wilson. He will race a greater number of horses this year than he did last season. Mr. AVilson has laid such great luck with the Madden thoroughbreds for several seasous that bis purchases of yearlings of recent yean has been confined nearly exclusively to Hamburg Place youngsters. Trainer Tom Healey. who always has kept Mr. Wilson well up in tlic winning list of owners, has his hOUU well advanced in physical condition. Healey is in the first division of Americau race bone trainers, aud in previous years his horses have generally won the lion- share of the overnight purses at the spring meetings. As lie has some promising material in the lot. many trainers predict that Healey will win many purses at Belmont Park this spring.
