This event is to be run on the opening day of the thirteen-daya spring mrrtlni at this beautiful course. Mnnj greol stars now in training, not only at tin- two courses here, but elsewhere in Kentuck] and iii tin- east, are being especially prepared lo run in this rich stake, the gross value of Which will amount to marly 3,000. Among ihose training especially well for the Kentucky Handicap are Kroglegs and Star Charter, the iwo older crocks in John W. Schorrs stable. Done-rail, winner of the Kentucky Derby of last year: Oowell, which won the LatOUia Derby of 1S13; ream, winner ol the Kentucky oaks last year: Budolfo, the tirst Kentucky Handicap winner: Croat Britain, present favorite for this rich race, and such other perfornsers of note as Samuel H. Meyer. Hawthorn, Dnval, lima Pino, Foundation, Prince Hcrniis. C. M. Miller. Prince Eugene and S"lar stat. All the prominent ellglblea to the Kentucky Derby and I.alonia Derby ale also entered for this great all-aged event. Including among the number being Obi Rosebud, Bradleys Choice. Ralph. Hodge and Surprising. That the race this sesosa will be by long odds ill.- greatest sll-aged event of tin- year is a fore- g ■ conclusion. Its wonderful arrav of entries has seldom been excelled, even in the days when the Suburban and Brooklyn Handicap races were at the zenith of their fame. While here looking after the interest of Douglas ; Park Mr. Ilaclniieister is also attending to the details of the coming twenty-four days meeting ol the Latonia Jockey Club, which begins on Monday. The Latonia meeting will wind np tin-Kentucky circuit for the spring and summer this year in a nl-ize of glory as among the great events to be decided during the lour weeks of the sport at the Kenton County course are the historic Latonia Derby and the Cincinnati Trophy, which is the greatest two-yesr-oMI event of the raeisg season in Kentucky. It is this race that generally furnishes each season the winter favorite for the Kentucky and Latonia Derby races of the following year, old Rosebud won the trophy lust season.
