DENVER MEETING FINDING FAVOR. Dearer, Col.. June 12. — There probably never was , a race mooting in the western country with such i sound and substantial local support from all sources i as the Denver Fair and Racing Association is re-oehiug right now. Rankers, merchants and business linn in all lines are twostiag the meeting along. There is not a word heard detrimental to the meet itig. which will open tomorrow, and there never was ; a time when the Denver public was as eager for • racing as at present. The management of the as mciattaa has formed an alliance with the Gentlemens . Riding and Driving Club, whose membership embraces leading citizens of this city and state. During the first five days of the meeting the trotters and pacers will he given two races on the daily program, while tin- runners will participate in six races on the opening day and five thereafter. I.venlually the whole card will be devoted to the thoroughbreds. Tom Hatfield has arrived from Louisville with five horses. Including High Street and Cloud Chief. Jockey tVaaej came along to do the riding. R. "N. Vestal will not be able to send Orb to the post for the Colorado Derby. The colt contracted •i severe cold, en route here from Juarez, and for awhile it was thought that he could nut be saved but he is now iu training again and probably will eoinpi-te with the three year-olds before Ihe season el- ses. J. W. Ielliam is a late arrival from Coucr dAlene.. Idaho. He will remain for tin- meeting.
