NOTES OF THE TURF. Thanks to the prevalence of ideal weather, the recent Iv closed meeting of the Toronto Driving Club at Ilillcrest was a huge success. It is planned to bold the Dufferin Park and Ilillcrest meetings earlier next season, and dates will be selected in June and July. The race meeting recently held at Helena, Mont.. In connection with the state fair, was so successful that t he state otlicials and Its directors are planning to hold out special inducements for a greater meeting next season. Although no ticket of less value than was sold. 30,740 passed through the mutuel boxes during the six days. The manner ju which the meeting was conducted made new friends for the sport in lntluentlal circles. The paid admissions during the week exceeded 50,000.
