BOWIE RACES WELL CONTESTED. Daltimore, Md.. October S. Well balanced and large fields faced the starter at Dowie today and the racing was keenly contested throughout. Cloudy skies again prevailed, but a large crowd journeyed to the course. In the fourth race, a dash of six furlongs, for three-year-olds and over, the winner turned up in Humiliation, from the stable of J. Kelly, with Lurla second and Ancnn third. In the closing race. Spohu. from the stable of .T. J. McCafferty. with jockey Ambrose up, bled freely when the field swung out of the backstretch and collapsed. He was In a contending ixisition at the time. Fortunately neither horse nor rider was injured. Spohn lay prostrate on the track for a considerable period, but finally recuperated and was led back to the stable. At public auction In the paddock this afternoon. J. V. Strode sold Toddling to W. J. Mclllinurray of Toronto, for 25. Among others who have decided to ship to Latonia from here are Martin Foley, J. Lowenstein and J. W. McGue. Jockey J. Dreycr, having been reinstated by the otlicials at Dufferin Park, Toronto, was allowed to accept mounts here this afternoon.
