NOBLE GRAND was off forwardly and, after being saved behind the leaders to the stretch turn, wore FRED LEVY down and got up to win in the final strides. FRED LEVY began quickly and drew away into a good lead in the lirst quarter, but tired badly in the last sixteenth. HYPATIA closed a big gap and finished fast and gaining. NIGADOO and AL COURT ran good races and finished close up. The winner, entered for 00, was bid up to S705 and bought in. MATER showed the most eariy speed and set a good pace, but tired badly in the homestretch. NAPIER finished well and outstayed JOE FINN for third place. The latter raced in closest pursuit to the stretch and tired as if short. LAURA ran a poor race and can do much better. The winner was entered for 00; no bid.
