BOWIE MEETING RUN AT A LOSS. Baltimore, Md., October lS. The meeting jnt closed at Bowie was run at a financial loss owing t the conlllct with Laurel, but the management is satisfied with the result. An agreement has been entered into between " Bowie, Pimlico and Havre de Grace in the matter of dates for next spring, whereby Bowie will be allotted the first fifteen days in April, if that be agreeable to the Jockey Club. The management will now go right on finishing up tin; plant and adding many improvements which have been suggested by the exiierieuces of the last week or two. Two hundred and fifty more stables will be constructed. The infield will be leveled off. and a first-class steeplechase course will be built so that cross-country events will be a feature hv the spring.
