LIGHT WING was forced to work her way up on the outside and Tan the best race of all. Dl- PLOMA closed a big gap and so did ESTIMABLE. SHANNON RIVER beat the others away from the barrier by a half dozen lengths and opened a long lead iu the first turn of the field, but tired badly iu the last quarter. MONTRESOR set the early pace, but was taken back on the backstretch, then did not respond when called on in the homestretch. POLLUX, ran well. The other two were outpaced.
