LAST COIN STILL UNBEATEN HIGH NOON, HIS STABLEMATE, COULD HAVE WON BALTIMORE HANDICAP, HOWEVER. Butwell, who ipde High Noon, was looking around when he finished, apparently for a glimpse of those behind. The Butler pair had the race to themselves all the way. High Noon jumped out at the start and showed in front immediately after the break. He was quickly joined by his stable companion and the two ran lapped on each other. Betore the turn was reached they were half a dozeii lengths In advance of the others. The first half was covered at a terrific pace, the time being :40. A number of horsemen have announced their intention of wintering at the Benning course. Those who have already reserved stables include It. F. Carman, J. W. Dayton. Thomas Fortune Ryan, Dr. J. S. Tyreu, M. J. Daly and Capt. C. K. Rockwell. S C. Iilldieth will ship the Belmont horses from Sheepshead Bay to Benning about the middle of February. Much will depend upon the condition of the weather however. The Carman yearlings, now at Belmont Park, will be shipped to Benning. Thornhlll ran this afternoon in the name and colors 9f D. J. Leary, who purchased the horse this morning. Hildreth is reducing his stable preparatory to going into winter quarters, as he expects a shipment of the Belmont horses from France shortly J. Vvf. Dayton purchased Sluinberer from William II. Karrick this morning, The colt will be schooled through the field at Helming this fall. , Several stables left for Iimlico this morning, Lr -itirludins J. Utter-back, 40: Borgoud, K. Utterback, 10. G. M. Miller was offered, but there was only one bid of ,000 on the horse and he was withdrawn. Several other horses offered by It. Carman were not sold.
