PATRONAGE IS GROWING ATTENDANCE AT PALMETTO PARK INCREASING WITH EACH PASSING DAY. Biggest Crowd of the Meeting Present on Saturday Officials Making Special Effort to Keep Racing Free from Rough Riding. Charleston. S. C, December i. Although rat-ins miller adverse weather conditions for the greater nan of the time since the meeting began, the attendance figures at lalinetto Park have shown a decided improvement daily. Saturday brought out tlie largest crowd of the week, when the spacious stands were comfortably tilled with the better class of Charlestons snort-loving public. The racing has been conducted on a high plane, Mini has been well contested. The stewards have taken u linn stand against rough riding and lias disciplined three riders with lilies and suspensions. Jockey Pool, who leads the riders in respect to winners, was the chief offender and was lined twice. I.lndsey, tlie oldest rider here, drew a suspension for rough riding. Tlie track is now in better condition than at any time since it was built. It has sotled to a linn base with a good cushion. Entries for tlie various races have beeii heavy, necessitating many exclusions and competition is keen throughout. Considerable interest is attached to the morning work-outs of the coming two-year-olds, which will have but little opiiortuuity to race at the present meeting. Several fast trials have been reported.
