CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF. Trainer Snyder, who has been abroad about three years, returned to New York by the Lord Brae, which brought over the French-bred two-year-olds from August BeJaseata Haras da Villers. The imported French-bred filly. Vistula, bv llint Rock— Lady of the Vale, one of H. M. Maxwells pun liases at the recent dispersal sale of the Rcl-mont two-year-olds, is sick at Durlauds. in New York. The six French-bred two-year-old coll-- by Yankee, brought over for Thomas Hitchcoek. and six Prearb-bred two year-olds belonging to Ambrose Ink. have been sent to Aiken, S. C, to receive their raeiag education. A high opinion is entertained of an I ltimus two-year-old colt owned bv Samuel Ross of Washington, D. C. This colt is said to be fine looking and is credited with havlag run a quarter from the qnarter post to the stand through the deep sand of tin- old Benning track in twenty-four seconds. David Gideons promising two-year-old fillv by Ogden — Her Majesty, was recently on the sick list at Jravesend. but has fully recovered, and is now doing nicely. It is re|x rted that Mr. Gldeoa is carrying a ten thousand dollar insurance policy on this filly, of which Gravesend trainers entertain a high opinion. C. K. G. Billings and Frederick Johnson have started on a trip to California. The valuable Bag-lish two-year-olds which were purchased lor them in Kngland by Charles T. Pattersoa. are now on the Rillings stock farm at Curls Neck. Va.. wheaa thev are being trained by Patlersou. They are rc-pordd to be doing finely. One of the favorites in Frank Nolans R"er-wyck Stable is the two-year old celt, Dreadaaaght, by The Commoner — Touch Not. This i ,1 large brown call marked with a blaze and while oif hind foot. He is :: colt of high finish, and a- he 1 .1 brother to sinh good ones a- Nota-ulga and Great Rritain. good things are naturally expected of him. He is wintering splendidly. Edward Johnson, the old-time American trainer. who brought over a consignment of six English-bred fillies from tic Laagdoa Hill Stud, has ret. lined to England. Two of these fillies. Mary Littleton. ::. by Littleton Merry Win;;, and LandatOOk, ■. by Laud Leagae Australian Daisy, which were pur-eha-eil by P. Ambrose Clark, have been shipped to Aiken. S. C. along with six other thoroughbreds belonging to F. You Stade, amateur steeplechase jockey.
