. t + THIRTY LEADING MONEY -WINNING THREE -YEAR -OLDS OF 1915 + * In the racing of 1915 four three-year-olds won 0,000 or more, they being The Finn, 517.985; Regret, 2,590; Royal II.. 2,245, and Waterbtosaom, 0,403. That the earning capacity of our horses has been greatly decreased is a niatter of common knowledge, but the extent of its curtailment is not so well digested, la the way of a contrast with a more prosperous time for racing, it may be sedated out that so lately as 1989 the four leading three-year-olds won the following vastly greater amounts: Joe Madden. ,905: Sweep. 1,323: Hilarious, 0,585. and Filz Herbert, 4,757. However, the owners of today are probabijr about as well content with what they do win as were the successful owners of 1909. Outside of Regret, it cannot be correctly said that the three-year-olds of 1915 were of high class, but according to their natural gifts they raced well enough to delight the thousands who witnessed their endeavors in competition. The records of the thirty leaders in money won were: Horse. Col., Sex. Pedigree. Owner. Sts. 1st. 2d. 3d.Unp. Won. The Finn blk. c. Ogden— Livonia H. C. Hallenbeck. . .20 9 4 2 5 7,985 Regret eh. f.
