LOFTUS A FAVORITE AT JUAREZ. Next to Wilhile. the racer at Juarez to make the best impression lately is Loftus. which has won his las! four starts in a row and there is no question that this son of Dick Welles — Kdna Shannon is a racer of merit. He posxsses a tine turn Of speed and also stay- In- race- out well. In one of his last winning performances he carried 115 pounds and wore the flying Seneca down at the letters favorite distance of five and a half fur-b iisjs. As is well known, he is named for the noted rider. J. Lottos, who was in the employ of the geldings breeder. J. R. Respess, when the son of Diek Welles was foaled.
