Attractive Racing Card for This Afternoon, with Pan Zareta Named to Start — A New Betting System. H.-t Springs. Ark.. March 10.— Instead of the riot guns which greeted patrons of the sport nine years ago. when racing last took place at Oak-lawn Dark, those journeying to the magnificent course tomorrow will lie welcomed by brass hands, the municipal authorities and notables of the state, in addition to a host of representaive members of the Business Mens League of this city. Tlic occasion will be a memorable one and marks the swinging back of the racing pendulum in a fashion that will be pleasing t- the staunchest supporters of racing. Enthusiasm over the opening continues at fever heat among the local people and the arrival f visitors bj special and regular trains is contributing to the excitement. Hot Springs inaugurates tomorrow its renewal of racing on a more stable basis than did New Orleans, according to the ideas of those familiar with conditions, and the success of the meeting should be as great. The stage setting for Oaklawns opening could not lie more auspicious. The ring will be an open one, witli sufficient elasticity prevailing to afford opportunity of placing a wager if speculatively inclined. The system will be different from that at New Orleans and vastly simplified. The opening day card is a good one. with many racers named to start that have run in creditable fashion over various tracks this winter.
