On Monday the house committee is to give a hearing to the opponents of tl.e hill, represented by William 1*. Uiggs. secretary of the Maryland Jockey lah. Hut. following the bearing, the ldll is to e brought before the house on its merits and there will be a hot fight over it. I p to jester day the race track people had not asked for a hearing and had not indicated any serious interest in the measure, though it has been pending for more than a month. When the bill was reported last night, without recommendation by the jadicinry committee. Mr. Hall wanted it panned to the third reading file and was backed up by Mr. Wilkinson. Mr. Mc-Donough bd a light to have it committed to the judiciary committee for a hearing and was aaaiated in this effort by Mr. Mcintosh and Mr. fisher of Prince Qeorgea County. In the roll call the motion to recommit the bill for a hearing was carried, fifty to forty -eight. Following this i.te. Mr. I.ee made a motion. which was carried, to the effect that the committee must report the bill again not later than Monday night.
