Hepburn, member of parliament for Prince Edward county, ami his assocl tea against the Connaught lark Jockey Club, for damages set at S10.000, is down for trial at the non-jury assizes at Ottawa next wecl.. An old charter, that of the Western Racing Association, which never operated, was bought from the Connaught Dark dub under the- expectation that racing with betting would bo legal under its authority. That anticipation was not realized and the suit is the coiisoc|iienoe of the Connaught lark c lulls refusal to reopen the- transaction after it was cdosed.
