AN INTERESTING BIT OF LITIGATION. Toronto. Ont.. March 17.— The action of D. II. Hepburn, member of parliament for Prince Edward county, ami his assocl tea against the Connaught lark Jockey Club, for damages set at S10.000, is down for trial at the non-jury assizes at Ottawa next wecl.. An old charter, that of the Western Racing Association, which never operated, was bought from the Connaught Dark dub under the- expectation that racing with betting would bo legal under its authority. That anticipation was not realized and the suit is the coiisoc|iienoe of the Connaught lark c lulls refusal to reopen the- transaction after it was cdosed.
