■ . . i - I ; i i i ■ , ; NOMINATIONS TO THE KENTUCKY OAKS. The Kentucky Oaks of this year closed with a select entry list of thirty-five three-year-old fillies from which much is uptlUd by their owners. In the main they are of our own breeding, but two come from England, being K. K. Bradleys May Bird by Thrush — May Bruce and .1. Livingstons Mandy Hamilton by John o Gaunt — My Sweetheart. The latter was a winner in this country last year. May Bird started once in Fnglnnd, but was unplaced. The east is represented by W. R. Coes proved good fillv Jacobs and his maiden King James filly Pet, while H. P. Whitney has named three specimens of winning form in Hansa. Adroit and itegina. Of these Hans. i won her only race. Adroit started twice, winning aejee and second ..nee. Pegina won five race out of ten starts and was only once unplaced. Of those which meed frequently in-1 year Jacobs was certainly best, but if there is any one thing in racing that is notoriously uncertain, it is n race for three-year-dd fillies early in the year. It follows that the winner of this race may turn up in some totally overlooked filly and speculation concerning its out-eoaae now is useless. Tne nominations are as follows : Owner. Color. Name.
