OFFICIALS FOR LEXINGTON FULL LIST SELECTED SUBJECT TO APPROVAL BY THE STATE RACING COMMISSION. An Increase of Purse Values Voted — Program Book to Provide Longer Baces — One Step Works a Fast Kile. Lexington, Ky.. April 6. — The directors of the Kentucky Association, vice-president O. II. Chenault presiding, met this morning and disposed of important preliminaries to the spring race meetings. Secretary Wilson read a communication from chairman Johnson N. Camden, who is president of the Kentucky Association, advising that, inasmuch as the State Racing Commission has not had its meeting for the purpose of naming racing officials and approving programs and the time before the beginning of racing here is limited, he had secured from his fellow commissioners sanction to authorize the Kentucky Association to proceed with the preparation of a program and the selection of officials, subject to the approval of the commission. It was voted to increase the daily distribution to horsemen and give no purses of less than $."00. A number of the purses will be for 00. 00 and 00 and to overnight handicaps ,000 will be added. This represents an increase in the daily average to horsemen of from 1916.sh00 to 00. Officials chosen for the Kacing Commissions approval are: Captain Thomas Clay, presiding steward; Messrs. C. D. WiNon and W. H. Shelley, associate stewards and placing judges; John T. Ireland, patrol judge; W. II. Shelley, racing secretary and handienpper; John S. Wallace, entry clerk; S. K. Hughes, timer. W. H. Laudeman, supervisor of pari-mutuel betting; Eugene E!rod, manager of the pari-mutuel offices; Dr. C. Cann, veterinarian and paddock judge. Judge Shelley Ix-gnn this afternoon preparation of the program for the printer and said conditions of tnc races will be written to conform with the expressed views of the commissioners and breeders for increased distances. The l ook will call for six races on some of the days and seven on others. The program for the entire twelve days is being arranged. The book will be given 1o the printer within a few days. All directors with the exception of K. L. Baker, who had not returned from Hot Springs, were present at the meeting. The racing stables of Messrs. K. I,, Baker. J. T. Looney. E. W. Moore. John Lowe. W. F. King and J. C. Calm arrived at the Kentucky Association course this afternoon from Hot Springs. Senator J. X. Camdens four-year-old filly. One 8tep. trined by J. C. Solly, which met with a| mishap last year and which J. O. Keene says was the fastest colt he ever trained, cantered a half in 52 with ease. Prince Harry. John II. Stampers candidate for the Kentucky Derby, worked a mile for G rover Hughes in 1:46%, the first half in 4S% and five-eighths in 1:02. Will Young sent his Derby team. Dr. Moore and Bulse, separately a mile each, the former running in 1:4S and the latter, a big loafer in his work, in 1:48%. Leo Kay, Jim Looneys candidate for the Camden Handicap, showed Will Young a mile in 1:44%, while his stablemate, Water Witch, also a candidate for the Camden, worked in 1 :45. Starter Harry Morrissey had a big school at the barrier today, the aggregate number of youngsters before him being twenty -one. The best moves noted today were: Bangor — Three-quarters in 1:17. Bellita — Three-quarters in 1:18%. Boneros First — Half mile in 51. Bulsc — Mile in 1:48%. Conning Tower— Half mile in 54. Dr. Moor" — Mile in 1 :4S. Eleanor — Half mile in 52%.
