TANGLE OVER CANADIAN RACING DATES. Toronto. Ont.. April 5. — The stable »f Harry Giddings. numbering seven head, will be brought into Woodbine from Cedar Grove Farm near Oak-ville about April 20. Hearts of Oak has gone to Maryland for a spell of steeplcvhasing. but will be back for the home meeting and join the others. Four of the seven are two-year-olds by Basset-law, including Praline, a brown filly from My Honey; Ori.m.i. a brown filly from Lady Betz; Ba-varde, a bay filly from Cuba Free, and "apt. Bee. a brown gelding from Burdette. The last-named is owned and was bred by apt. M. Ross Gooderham. now with the Overseas forces. The refusal of the Dorval Jockey Club to accept the dates allotted by the Canadian Racing Associations for the spring meeting will be considered at the next meeting of the Canadian Racing Associations, no date for which is yet fixed. As the Montreal club wants to start on Saturday. May 27. which is the closing day at Woodbine, instead of the allotted opening on the Monday following, there is little likelihood of the change being approved, the Canadian Racing Associations having striven all along to avoid conflicting dates. The new date for opening would also conflict with the announced date of closing Delorimier lark. the Montreal half-mile track which oih-iis the season there. The Windsor Joekey Club is not deterred by the increased race-course taxation in Ontario. The conditions just announced for the Frontier Handicap, to be run at the July meeting, show that it will have $.-,.000 added, an increase of ,000 over last year.
