CHEMING set a fast pace and drew away into a long lead in the last quarter to win in a canter. GREAT DOLLY began slowlv and was rushed around the others in the first eighth, then tired and swerved to the inside at the eighth post. GOLDEN BANTAM was a forward contender all the way. but was outpaced. CHERRY BELLE made up ground. LAZY LOU closed a gap. The winner was entered for 00; no bid. ELLEN SMYTH tired after disposing of SERVIA and racing into a clear lead in the stretch. SERVIA set a fast early pace, but quit in the stretch. SOUTHERN STAR closed a gap. O TIS TRUE tired after forcing the pace for three-quarters and being crowded somewhat by the winner at the sixteenth post. BE and TENER ran well and finished close up. MR. LORD WELLS came through on the inside in the homestretch and finished fast. SATURNUS finished fast. RUTH STRICKLAND, DAKOTA and FORD MAI quit. MARTIN CASCA came through on the inside in the homestretch and outgamed INA KAY for second place. The latter raced into the lead on the last turn, but tired right at the end. YORK-VILLE ran fairly well. WATER LILY looked dull when going to the post and propped when the barrier was sprung. The winner, entered for 00, was bid up to ,005 and bought in.
