MACKENZIE GATHERING A BIG STABLE. Whitlow Has Another Good One Besides Wenty Hogan-»-Training and Breeding Notes. Lexington. Ky.. April 15.— J. D. Adkins came over from Louisville this morning to direct the shipment of the fast trotters Miss Ferfection, 2:48%, and Anvelite. 2:22:-,, the property of It. J. Mackenzie, to trainer Dick McMahon at Liberty -ville. Adkins reports lie now has a dozen thoroughbreds in training at Churchill Downs, the latest additions to his string being eight two-year-olds from California, recently purchased from Adolpli Spreckels. They are named Amazonian, Tinsel, Conservator, Signoretta, Farewell, Mae-inonde. Lady Dunbar and Fairmonde. He likes Trusty, the Broomstick gelding lie bought from Harry Payne Whitney. San Vega, he says, is training well and Leo Skolny is better than ever. Adkins is delighted with the appearance of six foals recently produced by the Mackenzie mares at Beaumont Farm. They were all bred in California and are a chestnut filly by Rey Hindoo — La Reine Empress dam of Sal Vanity and Elizabeth McNmightoni, bay colt by Rey Hindoo — Admit, chestnut colt by Bey Hindoo — Gracious Dame, bay colt by Tim layue — Cheridah half-sister to Nealon, and hay filly by Rey Hindoo — SaintoI.it. Adkins says he will put Buckhorn into training again at the close of the present breeding season. It appears from conversation today anent yesterdays performance of Westy Hogan. that this colt is not the only good two-year-old in John Whitlows barn. It i said by the "rail birds" that A. M. Dick, a colt by Dick Finnell--Martha Tipton, has been a quarter in 23 recently .and that he will be a ripe proposition later along in the season. J. T. Lnaejra four-year-old Leo Ray worked the fastest mile of the spring this morning at the Kentucky Association track in 1 :42. Applications for stable room continue to pour in. Superintendent Boss today received a dispatch from Albert Simons asking for stalls for three of Harry Fayne Whitneys horses. J. W. May will bring his string of eight from liouisville in a few days. J. D. Adkins lias reserved accommodations for the ii"W material which ie has just purchased. Three carloads of horses are expected on Wednesday from Dot Springs.
