NEW KENTUCKY ORGANIZATION LAUNCHED. Lexington. Ky.. April 15. — At a meeting here this afternoon of horsemen and others interested in the breeding of thoroughbred horses and the general welfare of the turf, an organization to be known and ineoriiorated as the Kentucky Thoroughbred Horse Association, with its principal offices at Lex-ington. was formed with sixty-one signers to the membership enrollment. Messrs. Milton Young. J. 0. Keene, A. B. Hancock. John S. Barbce. Hal Price Headley, Thomas P. Hayes. Thomas C. McDowell. Charles II. Berry-man and F. A. Forsythe. was elected as a board of directors. Hal Frice Headley was elected president. Milton Young, vice-president. Thomas P.. Cromwell, secretary, and the Fhoenix and Third National Dank, treasurer. Articles of incorporation are to lie filed Monday and the organization expects to have its charter from the state of Kentucky within a few days. Another meeting of membeis will be held next Saturday afternoon. letters from horsemen in Maryland, Pennsylvania and Tennessee, offering encouragement and taking membership were read. There was also a letter of encouragement and sympathy with the plans of the organizers from former Inited States Senator .1. C. S. Blackburn, one of the staunchest of friends of the thoroughbred horse in this country. Livers of the- sport of racing iu all sections of the country are eligible for membership. Membership fee is 0 and no dues are collected for the first year. After that the dues are 0 annually. Offices will lie opened in the Hernando building. The object of the organization is to do all lawful things for the improvement of the breeding of horses, the elevation of the turf and the betterment of racing.
