DIVISION OF TWO-YEAR-OLD RACES. In England a question having arisen in connection with races for two-year-old races, when the entries were mi numerous as to require a split into two races, the ruling was as follows: The stewards of the Jockey Club give notice that if it is intended to divide a two-year-old race other than a nursery into two races, should it receive more than a stipulated number of entries, this must l e stated with the conditions of the race before it closes, and the division must be made in accordance with the following regulations. "The entries shrill 1m divided to form two races of equal number or as nearly equal as possible, the names of the horses to l e drawn by lot at the Registry Offices to determine in which race the horse may run. The amount of added money or sweepstakes will remain the same for each race as originally advertised: the two races so formed will l o published in the "Calendar." and shall be run on the same day. In the case of races closing overnight the lots shall be drawn at the clerk of the courses office immediately after the time fixed for closing."
