WHITNEY HORSES TO ARRIVE NEXT SUNDAY. Louisville Opinion Is That Dominant and Bromo Will Start in the Derhy — Jacobs Coming Too. Louisville. Ky., May 4. — Stalls are being bedded at Churchill Downs for the division of II. P. Whitneys stable which will arrive here Sunday. It is thought the string will consist of from eight to ten horses, made up of the Kentucky Derby candidates — Thunderer, Dominant. Bromo and Hansa — the unbeaten Regret and several two-year-olds. It is liclicved here now that the Whitney stable will have two starters in the Derby, probably Dominant and Bromo. W. R. One, who has Neville II.. Mustard and White Hackle engaged in the Derby, telegraphed that he is shipping the filly Jacoba here to fill her engagement in the Kentucky Oaks. The Derby candidates George Smith. St. Isidore and Huffnkcr have returned to the Downs from I.exingt. n. It is announced that Ceorge Smith will be ridden in the Derby by jockey J. Loftus. Manager M. J. Winn has returned from New York and his assistant. H. F. Brcivogel. came with him. Mr. Winn stated that practically every prominent turfman of the east will come to Louisville to see the running of the Derby.
