DICK, away forwardly, was taken back soon after the start and hold under restraint until in the last sixteenth, where he moved up fast and overhauled SLEEPER to win drawing clear. The latter raced into the lead on the last turn, but tired. RHYME set the early pace and dropped back just before rounding into the stretch, but ran fairly well. JOHN JR. after setting the early pace, followed the leader close up and when HAWTHORN tired in the last eighth took the lead and won drawing clear. HAWTHORN showed a good order of speed, but tired after racing into the lead on the last turn. PRIMERO raced forwardly and finished close up. WILHITE was outpaced all the way.
