Threatening weather again prevailed, but racegoers in these parts have become accustomed to it and it did not prevent another big crowd from being on hand Track conditions were of the most difficult sort and it required an extra sturdy racer to keep from tiring in the going. The running of the second race brought with it the first disqualification of this season in Kentucky. Hooker liill was the offender to be displaced, after finishing second to Lady Worthington. lie was disqualified liccause of subjecting Queen Apple to interference when the pair rounded the stretch turn. The interference had considerable bearing on the result, for Queen Apple at the time of interference was going fast and might have l eon the winner. Lady Worthington slipped through next to the inner rail and beat Booker Hill by a head, the same margin separating the latter from Queen Apple. Hooker Hills displacement gave second place to Queen Apple and Harwood was moved into third place. Jockey F. Murphy was suspended for five days for failure to keep Hooker Hill straight. Favorites started off well when Clare and Lady Worthington accounted for the opening dashes, hut the failure of Jack Wiggins and Hot Toddy in the third and Leo Skolny in the fourth proved costly to the talent.
