Start good and slow. Won easily; second and third driving. SKY set the early pace under restraint in the early running and drew away easily in the homestretch to win easing up. FRIENDLESS was always the closest contender and made a game effort while rounding the last turn, but could never get up. MELIORA began slowly and was shuttled back on the last turn, but closed up gamely and passed WIDE EYES in the final sixteenth. KING BAGGOT was high in Mesh and ran green. JESSE JR. saved ground on the turns and finished gamely. REY OAKWOOD ran a good race. HlMILIATION was in close l|— rUll until in the final eighth. CHESTERTON and PATRICK S. ran well to the stretch. BLCE THISTLE raced in the best going throughout and closed up menacingly in the final half, but was forced wide on the last turn and tired finally. STAR GAZE ran next to the rail all the way and had no mishaps. HIDDEN STAR retired after racing well for three-quarters. Scratched — 20714 Sharpshooter. 118. BASIL finished resolutely under punishment and easily passed DUNG A DIN. The latter showed excellent speed, but tired in the final eighth. KOH-I-NOOR tired in the homestretch. BALLAD was shuffled back at the start and closed a big gap, but came extremely wide when entering the homestretch and finished gamely when straightened out.
