HORSEMEN WIN AT DELORIMIER PARK. Montreal, Que.. June 23. — Following a meeting last night of a committee appointed by the Canadian branch of the Thoroughbred Horse Association and tin- local half-mile track owners. Which ended iu a deadlock, there was another deadlock at Beaorhnier Park this morning. Tie- horsemen declared at tin- meeting that they would not race for less than .* too panes and lie- local clubs do-lured they i Id not afford to give such purses. Neither would give way and a . cttlcmcnt was not reai-ln-d until this morning. The horsemen refused to make entries until the management of tin- track, shoitly before one oclock, decided to make the desired increase in the purses. Then entries were made. The Dcloriniior Park meeting is scheduled la open to morrow and then- was no alternative for the club as the In, is tain held the upper hand. This is the first move of the horsemen against Any Canadian track. William Walker, chairman of the Horsemens committee stated that none would be overlooked and declared that because of Unsuccessful meeting at I.lue Bonnets the Montreal Jockey Club would be asked to give larger piil-.es for tin- fall mooting. as would all of the Other tracks on the Major circuit, that have not already done so. Tin- owners of King Edward Park and tin- Mnis-onueuve track announced that they would have to close their tracks if the horsemen insisted on 00 purse*. I j
