HANWOUTH was hard ridden and. taking the lead while rounding the far turn, was rated in front until in the final eighth, then hung on gamely in the final drive and outstayed BUCK SHOT. The latter finished gamely, but was tiring in the final strides. NINETY SIMPLEX, away badly, closed a big gap and outstayed IHMILIATION. The latter had no mishaps. CHARMElSE stumbled and fell shortly after the start. The winner was entered for 00; no bid. MONOCACY followed TRANSIT closely in the early running, then drew into a clear lead and won easing up. TRANSIT set the early pace and. hanging on gamely under punishment, was easily best of the others. TACTLESS slipped through next to the rail when entering the homestretch, but tired in the Baal sixteenth. NAPIER closed a big gap and finished fast. DR. GREMER ran out on all the turns. BAYBERRY CANDLE set a fast pace under slight restraint until straightened out in the homestretch, then, after lK-ing headed, took the lead again, but had to lie hard driven to withstand GRIMPYS challenge. GRlMPY was badly outpaced in the early running and came wide when entering the homestretch, but finished fast and wearing the winner down at the finish. HARRY SHAW was shuffled hack at the stirt and dosed a big gap. but tired in the final strides. SANDMAN II. raced into the lead on the last turn, but tired. HAG showed siteed. FELKTDAD ran out when entering the straightaway. COINSEI. was running well at the end. The winner was entered for ,800; no bid. LITTLE NEARER wys outpaced in the early running, but closed up with a rush on the outside in the homestretch and, taking the lead, was ridden out at the finish. CLIFF HAVEN showed much speed and, having raced RAY 0* LIGHT into defeat, held on gamely and outstayed G. M. MILLER in the final drive. G. JI. MILLER raced closer up than usual, but tired when called on for a final effort. AHARA ran well to the stretch. RAY O LIGHT quit. STAR FINCH made a game effort through the homestretch, but tired and swerved to the inside in the final sixteenth. ARNOLD was in lose quarters all the way and finished fast when clear. FAIRY WAND ran green. BALLAD was sirffled back and had no chance.
