OrriCIALS FOR THE HAWTHORNE MEETING. C. J. Fitzgerald, who will bo presiding steward at the meeting of the Illinois Jockey Club at Hawthorne, will soon arrive in Chicago from New York, according to a letter received by Martin Nathausont racing secretary, yesterday. Mr. Fitzgerald will have absolute control of the meeting, which is to revive racing in Illinois. Mr. Nathan-sons assistant, E. Jasper, who also will act as associate judge and handicapper, will be in Chicago Sunday, and the other officials will be here Wednesday. They are: It. N. Hennessey Associate judge. W. II. Shelley Associate judge ami clerk of the course. J.F. Milton Starter. .1. S. Wallace Paddock judge and timer. W. E. Phillips Patrol judge. Horses are arriving at the track every day and are being placed. Sixteen arrived yesterday morning and advices from Eastern tracks are that the Derby candidates are likely to be here early next week.
