CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF. The Tijuana meeting is said to have been profitable to the management. Jockey J. Hanover is no longer connected with the Cifford A. Cochran establishment, and is now riding as a free lance. Trainer Jack McCormick will ship the Butler string to Saratoga the latter part of this week. 1ebbles will not be sent to tho post until after he reaches Saratoga. William AValker shipped six of his string to Fort Erie from Windsor. Kyle. Lady Spirituelle and Servicence were shipped from Windsor to Toronto to rest for the present. Koscoe Troxler, after a successful week at the Mount Itoyal track, reported to W. I. P.urch at Saratoga Springs Tuesday, and will enjoy a short lest in the Spa before the opening of the meeting. John Whalen will ship his stable to Saratoga Sunday night. Boots has been going along well of late and gives promise of taking the place vacated in the Whalen string when Buskin broke down last spring. George Odom, acting for the Brighton Stable, has repurchased Woodward from the Marrone Stable. Last week AVoodwnrd was claimed out of a selling race by J. W. lledrick, who afterwards Bold him to the Marrone Stable. 1. It. McDaniel reports Grant Hugh Brownes big imported chestnut two-.vear-ohl, King Herod by Colin Acolat, has bucked shins for the second time this year. He was coming on so well in his work that "Pud" expected to get him to the races at an early date, but now that he has bucked agian, his first public appearance has been further postponed. Capt. W. J. Davis, chief of the Pennsylvania railroad police at Pittsburgh, Pa., was a visitor at Empire City Tuesday. The captan says all Pittsburgh is anxious for a return of racing in that vicinity, and that bills for a revival of the sport will probably be introduced at the coming sessions of the Pennsylvania and West Virginia legislatures. James Fitzsiinmons. who had engaged cars for shipping his big stable from Empire City to Saratoga Monday, has discovered that the cars will be available:" today, and has decided to avail himself of the opportunity thus afforded to leave much earlier than he had anticipated. On the. other hand, trainer Thomas J. llealey, who had decided to ship the four remaining horses of K. T. Wilsons stable to Saratoga Monday night, changed his plans at the last moment, and will keep them at Empire City until the close of the meeting.
