MORE PURCHASES IN ENGLAND. Breeding of Sixteen Young Horses Bought at Newmarket Sales for American Racing. Three two-year-olds and thirteen yearlings were bought for Grant Hugh Drowne at the Newmarket First July meeting. 3Iost of them were by young and practically untried sires and so were acquired cheaply. If one of the band turns out to be a good racer the investment will be well justified. A really fashionable-bred yearling would bring more than the sixteen cost 3Ir. Drowne, and then might turn out to be of no account for racing. The prices of these cheap ones and their breeding are as follows: Sunflash, b. c, 2. by Sunbright Napthalia i5 Day colt, 2. by Sir Archibald Seance 10 Chestnut filly, 2, by Jlnrtagon-Came Hen :J.!I0 Chestnut colt. 1, by loussin Gentian 101 Hay filly, 1. by loussin Cnoc l.uidhe 101 Chestnut filly, 1, by Santry Rustic Jiieen 520 Drown filly. 1, by Proe-ope Murcha Real 78 Chestnut filly, 1, by Llaugibb.v Elevator 3:0 Day colt, 1, by Orpimcnt Koligena -1 III Land Lubber, b. c, 2. by Juggernaut 3Iast Head 130 Hay colt, 1, by Juggernaut 3Irs.
