WATERPROOF, away slowly and forced to go wide, closed a big gap and finished fastest of all. OROTUND also made up much ground and. after coming wide on the stretch turn, finished fast and gamelv. SMUGGLER ran fairly well. WILD BEAR set a good early pace and quit in the stretch. The winner was entered for 00; no bid.
