YEARLINGS START EAST TO BE SOLD. Lexington. Ky.. August 31. 0. II. Chenault and J. O. Keene left this morning for Belmont Park with twenty-four thoroughbred yearlings to be sold next week at that track by the Powers-Hunter company. The pick of the Chenault string is probably a brown colt by Jack Atkin Africa, and the best, of tlie fillies may be the bay daughter of Ballot Phida. dam of Toiler, a good winner in England. The smartest looking one of the Keene string of eight is the chestnut colt by Peter Quince Phebe G. John Miller will leave here tomorrow evening for New York with a carload of horses for various persons. A carload of racers from Saratoga arrived tonight. They included William Wallaces Big Smoke. Pockichoo, Inele "Will and Big Fellow, and William Hurleys Bedtime Stories, Bird Lore and Busy Joe. William Feuchter. owner of Skiles Knob and Charles Francis, arrived today. The horses are here in charge of Tom Proctor. Jockey Hugh Shilling today reported to Jerry Powers, who is training the Mrs. C. II. Shilling string and the horses of Henry Fink and J. M. Henry. The best moves at the track this morning were shown bv Jefferson Livingstons horses in charge of Mose Goldblatt, and the fastest was Othellos three-quarters in 1:15. The Livingston horses are all in good condition. Harry Morrissey today received advice from F. W. Gerhardy to the effect that he has been appointed to do the starting at the meeting at Kssex Park. Hot Springs Ark., anil that Edward Jasper has been appointed racing secretary.
