STAKE RACES FOR TIJUANA MEETING. J. W. Coffroth, president of the Lower California i Jockey Club, was in Chicago yesterday en route for the east. There he intends to observe racing methods and to bring to the attention of owners, the : fact that Tijuana is decidedly a live racing point t and in the turf field to stay. Mr. Coffroth confirmed all that was printed in Dailv Racing Form of August 2ti. in regard to his racing nlans for the coming winter and spring, and 1 said that while 00 purses were the rule at the initial Tijuana meeting, they are to be increased to S-100 for the coming meeting. The rising importance . of Tijuana racing is also accented by the addition to its attractions of the following stake races: - . ColTroth Handicap, for all ages, $.".,000 guaranteed; one and one-quarter miles. San Diego Business Mens Handicap, for all ages, $",500 guaranteed: one and one-sixteenth miles. Spreckels Handicap, for all ages, ,."00 guaranteed; one mile. Los Angeles Ilighweight Handicap, for all ages. ,500 guaranteed; three-quarters mile.
