AVon ridden out; second and third driving. IIWFA led under slight restraint in the early running and. after being passed, responded gamely when called on in the linal eighth and outstayed LEICESTER. The latter finished resolutely and gaining at the finish. FIRST BALLOT met early interference and tired after racing into the lead. DECKMATE had no mishaps. FKRXROCK ran well and made a game effort in the final eighth, but tired in the closing strides. XYLON showed much speed in the early running and tired as if short. HAUBERK was outpaced for the first half and linished with a belated rush. MILKMAN was in close quarters on the turns and not. persevered with in the homestretch. GAINER was outpaced. STRAIGHT FORWARD, under hard urging, took the lead in the final eighth and hung on gamely to the end. AlVID set a fast pace and linished resolutely.
