CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF. Donald Leonard, for about twenty-five years connected with London Sportsman, and an accomplished and popular writer on turf affairs, died suddenly at Newmarket, England, September 24. The thoroughbred yearlings purchased in England by Howard Oots during the September sales, have arrived at Lexington, Ky., and are in quarters at the Kentucky Association track. They number fifteen, and arrived in good condition. Mrs. Jessie Daingerfield Keene, widow of the late James R. Keene, died at her home at Cedarhurst, L. I., Monday night after a long illness. Mrs. Keene was born at Foxhill, Va., seventy-six years ago. She is survived by a son, Foxhall Parker Keene; a daughter, Mrs. Jessie H. Frost, and three grandchildren.
