. WHAT THE J. K. L. ROSS HORSES DID FOR THEIR OWNER IN THIS YEARS RACING- . : 1 A newcomer of the kind highly desirable in racing, Lieut. J. K. L. Ross, was fairlv successful this year with a stable of useful horses picked up here and there. The Rock Sand colt, Damrosch, only won three races for him, but two of them were stake races, the Preakness Handicap at Pimlico and Woodstock Plate at Woodbine Park, the result being that Damrosch was his best money winner. Uncle Bryn and Kama ranked next to him in that regard and amply paid their way. Of his two-year-olds Yellow Sally, a speedy miss when right, was the only one which did anything considerable, her victory in the Juvenile Stakes at Toronto being a meritorious performance, in which she defeated the pick of the two-year-olds racing in Canada at that time. It is understood that Lieutenant Ross will augment his stable considerably for the campaign of 1917. His satisfactory stable return for the year was: Horse. Col. and Sex. A. Pedigree. 1st. 2d. 3d.
