BURGLAR moved up with a rush while rounding the far turn into a good lead, but tired badly in the last eighth. LIFE gained steadily and would have beaten the winner in a few more strides. BILLY OLIVER closed a gap. but tired when it came to the final drive. LANDSLIDE finished with a rush. PASSION quit badly after setting the early pace. WELDSHIP was saved in front from the start and was under restraint until in the last .sixteenth, then drew away. EXPECTATION was a close contender to the last fence, but was tiring at the end. PEBETO closed a big gap. FALMOUTH was just making a fast move after taking the ninth jump when he was crowded against the flag post and his rider lost his balance and fell off.
