JOHNSON and BILLINGS NEW ORLEANS STRING. New York, November S. Charles Patterson, who is in charge of the Johnson and Billings thoroughbreds at Beimont Park, has gone to. New Orleans to look out for suitable quarters at the Fair Grounds for the dozen and a half animals in his charge. It is anticipated that he will race a valuable string of tvo;nnd three-year-olds at New Orleans, and a majority of them are imported animals. It will be remembered that about this time last year, or possibly a little later, lie brought over a valuable shipment of yearlings for Messrs Billings and Johnson, which he had bought at the Newmarket Autumn sales. Originally there wore eleven of these imported youngsters which came over in the Philadelphian, but one of these was sold out of tiie stable, leaving ten which will be sent to New Orleans, and along with these will be sent several imported and one or two American-bred yearlings. It is hoped that these imported two-year-olds, of which much had been expected on account of both breeding and individuality, will do something worth while in the way of redeeming their reputations while in New Orleans, as they now appear to be in fine condition, and most of them have been working well of late.
