DEDUCTIONS FROM THE DECEMBER SALE. Says The London Sportsmans report of the De-oi mber thoroughbred sales. "A certain number of the foals were bought today for Roumania. and more will yet be bought. The whole tenor of the business went to show that in the matter of blood stock anyhow, people here are keeping level heads, and one cannot but admire the pluck of Mr. Hardy in giving 2.600 guineas for Will Return, but, as he well understands, one good one costs no more to keep than a bad or moderate one. and. though he might have bought ten mares for the same money, the balance sheet at present forage prices would have worked out much to his disadvantage by the end of the year."
