For the first time m eleven days the sun made its appearanec. and though there was a biting chill in the air. it was a welcome relief from former bb-ak and moist conditions. The track was even worse than before, being miry and holding in spots, and rough and lumpy at other points. Considering track conditions the racing was of fairly interesting character and some of tie- finishes of the close variety. Backer! of favorites did not fare so extra well.
