PROVING ITS VALUE IN TIME OF NEED. John F. Ryan, general manager of the Canadian Thoroughbred Breeding Bureau, while in New York recently, spoke enthusiastically of the work the bureau ha- been doing in Canada. •"Because of the establishment of the breeding bureau in Canada." said Mr. Ryan, "we have been able to furnish many remounts for the army. All the available horses that have been produced have been shipped abroad, and we have had to come into the states to buy thousands of ethers. However. til* Canadians are convinced that the bureau, which was established in 1S08, has accomplished wonders for the country."
